My Selections:

The Model - Kraftwerk (download)

Electronic pioneers, without them, so much would be missing in music today... not my favourite song by them, but I do love this song. Its a very cold song.

Gypsy - Fleetwood Mac
(download)

My favourite song on Mirage, originally written for Stevie Nicks solo album Bella Donna... I love Stevie Nicks, I have an ex-girlfriend to thank for that, and I think that Stevie sounds great on this song. The video for this was the first ever "World Premiere Video" on MTV

Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - Soft Cell
(download)

I love Soft Cell, this song has very special memories, when I split up with L, the greatest love of my life, I was a walking away hers (for the last time) she had thrown me out, she was distraught, we had another row, handing what belongings I had left at hers in black bag, and pushed me out of the door... I put my personal stereo on, this song came on, as I approached the clock tower in the centre of Brighton, I started to cry, for what seemed like the first time... I saw her one more time I was in the early days of another relationship and she walked past the pub I was in, and I was holding court at a table, I wanted her still.

Party Fears Two - Associates
(download)

I was recently introduced to this song... to my eternal sadness at not knowing it for longer, this is a brilliant song, the singer Billy MacKenzie sounds amazing on this song. This is a lovely song, one of the finest of this period the 80's

Ain't No Pleasing You - Chas n Dave
(download)

I'm a Spurs fan, I can't help love Chas N Dave, its in our blood... now where's my jellied eels?

Oh and yes, this has made the cut over the message & planet rock ... such a heathen.

My Birthday Song

Come On Eileen - Dexys Midnight Runners
This song HAUNTED me as a young adult, I don't know why, but I frequented some dives, like the bar that charged you a £10 to get in and drinks were free all night, what idiot came up with that idea, I can put away much much much more than that.
